Counselor

Welcome to Spinning! We are so excited to meet our students and families! I look forward to continuing cultivating relationships this year! I am very grateful to be a part of such a wonderful Spinning community!

I am here for ALL our students and families so that each student can be successful socially, emotionally, and academically. As a counselor I have the best job getting to support our students and families, and staff in a multitude of ways. I hope to be a resource and advocate as we work together to build a positive and collaborative learning community. Go Vikings!

Small Groups

As part of my responsibility to follow the American School Counselor Association National Model, I will guide small groups throughout the year to meet specific needs of our students. Students are selected for these groups from data collected from teachers and staff, as well as parent input. Our groups focus on topics such as social skills, friendship, self-management, and much more. If your student is selected for a small group I will send home a letter with the details.

Any questions? Always feel free to contact me!

Whole Class Guidance Lessons

Each year, I teach whole class guidance lessons to help all students gain social and emotional skills. These lessons will teach bully prevention, safety skills, problem solving skills, emotion management as well as other important topics targeted to the specific needs of our Spinning students. These lessons take place within the classroom weekly varying from 4-6 weeks at various times throughout the year.
